So, yes, I know it's the jillionth time we have done this, anyway this is different: so far, I've only been the cleaner and capturer of anchor portals in Rosignano Marittimo, but this time we agreed I'd be the one to actually close fields at those anchors, thus allowing me to stack up points for the Illuminator medal which has been idling in its early Platinum status for a while now.
The top link was still up from the previous episodes of this operation: thanks to +David Jones aka @ToscJones who provided the keys for the left and right anchors, we decided we could go for the checkpoint of 9 PM.
On his way back home from work, at about 05:30 PM, @ToscJones headed to Rosignano Marittimo for some partial cleaning in order to pave the way for me to complete the cleaning faster in the imminence of the checkpoint and have time to capture & fill portals and link them.
As we saw no dangerous activity from the smurfs in Rosignano Marittimo, I had time for dinner, then I headed to the beginning of the anchors array and parked.
After waiting for at least 08:30 PM, I started attacking, capturing and fielding; I do know that starting half an hour before the checkpoint is very early, but, again, if I wanted to increase sensibily my Illuminator statistics I had to deal with all those nine anchors alone in a town where some streets are narrow and steeply uphill/downhill, with the risk of traffic slowing me down.
Fielding series completed at 08:53 PM, everything went pretty smoothly, so while keeping an eye on COMM notifications in Ingress I had time to take some landscape pictures of Rosignano Marittimo for the #IngressActualGameplayFootage and #PlacesIngressHasTakenMe Google+ hashtags:
3... 2... 1... DING! 09:00 PM, checkpoint reached, ~300 kMU added to the cell score and to my Illuminator statistics which went over 2,100,000.
After thanking @ToscJones for his collaboration also as operator, I went to spend the rest of the night with some friends of mine, when I even met +Luca Magni aka @Oba87 and +Chiara Castoldi aka @Ghiacciolina in front of an espresso coffee.
At 11:30 PM I was getting in my car to go back home when I thought I'd check whether that fields system would be still up... and it was.
I was in Marina di Cecina, took a look at the Intel situation there and spotted the opportunity to add some more kMU.
So, why not...
After cleaning 3 blue portals with blocking link, I attached 3 more fields to the previous multilayer triangle...
...which made Rosignano Marittimo even greener:
It yielded an additional ~35 kMU.
Operation finally completed at 00:11 AM, and the overall picture is on the top left of this article; top-bottom distance: 32Km (19.8mi).
Now at 09:30 AM it's all still up, which means that checkpoints at 02:00 AM and 07:00 AM has been covered too.
